When I placed my order, I was told it would take about 2 weeks, and in reality it took around 2 and a half weeks. That seemed pretty reasonable for a custom-made dress.

When I contacted Ms. Mui to arrange the delivery time through LINE, she suggested 6:30am–6:45am!

Honestly, I would have preferred something a little later… but she explained that she had five more appointments scheduled every 30 minutes after that.

Wow. Ms. Mui must be a very popular tailor!

The final price was exactly the same as what she quoted when I ordered the dress.

Cost breakdown

  • Fabric (3 meters) : 120 baht
  • Tailoring: 1,100 baht  – I paid by Cash
  • Total: 1,220 baht

Ms. Mui also mentioned something interesting.

Apparently, part of the fabric had a small stain, so she carefully used the clean sections when cutting the pattern.

She even gave me a helpful tip:

In some fabric shops in Bangkok, bolts of fabric are sometimes handled quite roughly — people might even kick the rolls with their feet while moving them around.

So it’s a good idea to check the fabric carefully before buying it.

Well noted!

And here it is…

My very first tailor-made dress in Bangkok!

Overall, it turned out very close to what I imagined. Amazing!

Since Ms. Mui delivers the finished clothing to your home, I was able to try it on immediately and check the details together.

Here’s how each request turned out:

  • Soft A-line dress – ✔ Perfect exactly what I imagined
  • Front V-neck – △ It turned out to be more of a U-neck (haha)
  • Back V-neck with a thin ribbon tie – ✔ Perfect the depth of the V looks great
  • Slightly shorter in the front, longer in the back – Same length in front and back (oops!)

To be fair, I had actually been debating between V-neck and U-neck, and the length difference was only a “nice-to-have” request.

So overall, I was very happy with the result.

One thing I noticed is that Ms. Mui is extremely busy, so scheduling appointments took a little effort.

She did say that adjustments could be made if necessary, but since arranging another time might be tricky (and I was already satisfied), I decided to leave it as it was.

If I order again, I’ll probably do it when I have a bit more flexibility with my schedule.

Of course, this might depend on the season or the type of clothing you’re making, so your experience could be different.

That said, having a tailor come directly to my home was incredibly convenient.

And as a first-time experience, it was honestly a bit magical.

I kept thinking:

“Wow… I can actually have clothes custom-made like this!”

Thailand is amazing.

The most important thing for me is whether the dress looks good and feels comfortable in Thailand’s climate.

Mui actually warned me when I bought the fabric:

“This fabric is a bit heavy.”

That comment has stayed in the back of my mind.
