Fabric Hunting at China World

I’m still very much a beginner when it comes to custom tailoring, so whenever I go fabric shopping, I usually have a pretty clear idea in mind beforehand.

I came across this series in colors I absolutely loved and was very tempted, but since it wasn’t part of the plan, I decided to leave it for the time being.
If I were rich, I’d probably just buy everything I liked. Haha.
But I always end up thinking, What if I never use it? and become a little too cautious.
Just Admiring the Beautiful Fabrics

This embroidered fabric nearly made me break my own rule and buy something completely unplanned.
It was that beautiful.
But then I saw the price: 1,200 baht per meter
That’s basically one extra zero compared with the fabrics I usually buy…
So this time, I was happy just admiring it.
I Can’t Stop Thinking About the Turtles

Then I came across these turtle and chair prints.
The turtles I could understand, but the chairs?
Who exactly is looking for chair-print fabric!? Haha.
And yet, somehow, I kept coming back to the turtles.
This might look really cute on my son…
The price was reasonable too, at just 100 baht per meter.
I went back and forth for a while, but since I hadn’t planned to buy it, I eventually left without it.
I Still Wanted It

But even after I got home, I couldn’t stop thinking about that turtle fabric.
So the next time I had a chance to go back, I finally bought it.
And thankfully, it was still there.
Apparently, at China World, a fabric you see one day can sometimes be completely gone just a few days later.
So maybe the rule should be:
If you’re still thinking about it, just buy it? – Maybe yes.
Next Time: What Can I Make with Turtle-Print Fabric?
So now I had bought a fabric with absolutely no plan for what to make.
And not just any fabric…Turtle-print fabric.
