These are the fabric scraps I picked up at 863 Textile the other day.

I bought four different pieces, and together they cost just 125 baht.

What I bought (from left to right in the photo)

  • Mint: 40 baht
  • Black: 20 baht
  • Pink: 30 baht
  • Beige: 35 baht

First, this beautiful mint fabric had a light, smooth feel, so I decided to have it made into a simple, flowy top.

I asked them to copy the top in the photo on the right, from a Japanese brand called Soeju.

Next was this black knit fabric.

Since the piece was smaller than the mint one, I decided to ask for a copy of the tank top in the photo on the right, which I also bought in Japan.

I really like the shape of this tank top and wear it both on its own and as an inner layer, so I thought it would be useful to have one in black too.

My son’s overalls in the photo are also tailor-made.

I may be a little too obsessed with mom-and-son matching looks.

This beige piece was a soft knit fabric.

I had originally hoped to make an off-shoulder top, but there wasn’t enough fabric.

So instead, I changed the plan and asked them to make the design shown in the photo on the right.

And finally, the pink one.

When I unfolded it at home, I noticed several faded lines running across the fabric, just like in the photo.

So disappointing.

I thought I had unfolded it enough at the shop to check the size, but somehow I completely missed them.

Lesson learned: when buying fabric scraps, unfold them properly and check the entire piece.

I may still use this one as a small detail on another garment or turn it into an accessory, but for now, I’m putting it on hold.

So that leaves me with three tailoring projects from three different fabric scraps.

From the next post onward, I’ll be sharing the finished pieces one by one.
