Fabric Shopping: 863 Textile Is So Easy to Browse

A friend recommended a fabric shop called 863 Textile, so I went to check it out.

It’s about 20–30 minutes by car from the Sukhumvit area.

The shop is spread over two floors with a large open atrium, so it feels bright, spacious, and easy to browse.

There are plenty of fabric rolls,

but what I especially liked was that some fabrics were displayed on hangers like this.

It made everything so much easier to see.

One thing I really appreciated was the full-length mirror on the first floor.

At China World, there often aren’t any mirrors, which makes it hard to check how a color looks against your face.

I usually end up using my phone’s front camera for that. Haha.

Having a proper mirror made it much easier to imagine what the fabric might look like once it became clothes.

There was also a small section that, when translated from Thai, basically said:

“Fabric scraps — special price — cheap sale.”

The pieces were around 25–40 baht each, which made them very easy to try.

You could also unfold them to check how much fabric was actually there.

The shop was clean, spacious, and so easy to browse that I got a little too excited.

If you show the staff a reference photo of what you want to make, they’ll also advise you on how many yards of fabric you’ll probably need.

Did I buy too many fabric scraps? Haha.

But all four scraps together were only 125 baht, so it was hard to resist.

Half the fun of buying fabric is imagining what you’re going to make with it.
