This time, we visited a temple in Ayutthaya.

It’s about an hour by car from Sukhumvit, and it makes a great combination with a visit to Bang Pa-In Palace.

Wat Niwet Thammaprawat
Ban Len, Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya 13160

Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

After the fitting, I felt like the dress had somehow ended up with a slightly less interesting silhouette.

But when I actually got dressed to go out, I suddenly had the idea to wear it back to front instead. In the front, I let a little bit of my white lace camisole peek through.

I also decided it looked better without the belt, so I roughly cut it and turned it into a hair accessory instead.
(It’s literally just pinned into a loop with a safety pin.)

So yes, after going through the whole fitting process, this is where I ended up…
But I’m going to call it a two-way dress and say it works both ways♪

The building is so cute! This pink building seems to be the monks’ quarters.

It doesn’t feel particularly Thai, but it has such a lovely old-world charm.

It had rained a little that morning, so my son was absolutely determined to wear his rain boots and carry an umbrella.

Wearing the dress backwards doesn’t look strange, right…?

I was so happy to be able to wear matching outfits with my son in custom-made pieces.

It was also fun getting there by taking the little gondola across the river from the back of the Bang Pa-In Palace parking area.

Just a note: Bang Pa-In Palace has a fairly strict dress code, so it’s worth keeping that in mind.

I think I might be getting hooked on making hair accessories out of leftover fabric…

Songkran is almost here!
