Once again, I bought the fabric at China World, the fabric-filled building I always seem to end up at.

This time, I went in knowing exactly what I wanted: a bright yellow fabric that would feel light and cool to wear.

It’s actually the same fabric I used for my son’s overalls.

Dress fabric: 80 baht × 3 meters = 240 baht

The price tag in the photo says 79 baht, but I think it was actually calculated at 80 baht… maybe?

This time, I went to RINNA, a well-known tailor that seems to be especially popular with Japanese customers.

It’s about a 15-minute walk from Exit 3 of Phra Khanong Station. You’ll definitely work up a sweat, but you can enjoy walking through Phra Khanong Market along the way, so it’s worth it.

Unlike some of the other places I’ve been, this one actually has a proper signboard. Haha.
And if you follow Google Maps, it’s easy enough to find.

I really liked a green linen dress I already owned
(the one on the left in the photo, with the wrap-style neckline),
so I brought it with me and asked for something similar.

Still playing it safe, as usual…

Once I explained the idea, she quickly sketched it out for me.

She spoke English, understood what I wanted right away, and the whole conversation felt very smooth.

She also took my measurements quickly and efficiently, then checked details like whether I wanted a lining and — importantly — pockets.

After that, she gave me the quote and the estimated timeline.

The price was 1,200 baht, but payment was after completion.

There would be no fitting, and the turnaround time was three weeks.

As you can see in the photo, bringing a child along was not a problem either.
(I also went in without an appointment that day.)

Everything about the process felt smooth and reassuring — exactly the kind of experience that makes you think, yes, this is a proper tailor shop.

Now the only question is… how will the finished dress turn out?
